Cene
Film as Art, documentary

France 2007
Dir: Andy Guérif
cinematographer: Pascal Rabaté
Editor: Andy Guérif
Production company: Capricci Films

31 Minutes. French, English & Hebrew Subtitles

Saturday 31.10, 13:15 Cinematheque 1
(will be screened with “Theo Angelopoulos shoots")
 Cène
Thirteen workers toil over a painting: they are reconstructing the entire setting of Duccio di Buoninsegna's masterpiece La Cène (The Last Supper). Andy Guérif installed a static camera in front of them and created a 30 minutes performance in real time, a reflection on artistic creation in the making and a cinematic sequence continually questioning the off-screen space.

The result is not only thought-provoking but also surprisingly amusing
