In 1976 Nina Simone gave a concert in Montreux Jazz Festival that was later described as a work of performance art rather than a music concert. Simone sang and played the piano, barked at the audience and then got it to sing with her, danced in high heels to African drums and murmured some cryptic comments to herself.
The film documents how the legendary singer mesmerized the audience and took it by storm.
